What is VoIP?
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is set to become the standard technology for voice calls. It's rapid adoption has been recognised by the press, the technical issues have been overcome and it's benefits are being widely accepted.
Essentially VoIP is a technology used to send voice traffic over data networks. The data network can be your internal LAN, inter-office VPN or your broadband network.
Voice traffic is converted into data, transmitted across the data network and finally converted back to voice at the receiving end.
